State of Michigan Minimum Wage Increase as of September 1, 2014

On September 1, 2014, the State of Michigan increased the minimum hourly wage from $7.40 to $8.15.  To reflect this change in your Sage 100 ERP (MAS 90) system, please follow these steps:

Step 1:  Go into Payroll>Setup>Payroll Options:

Step 2:  On the Main Tab, change the Minimum Hourly Wage to $8.15:

Step 3:  Click on the Accept button on the bottom of the page.

Sage 100 ERP 2014 - New Features

Sage has released a 25 page guide to the expected new features for Sage 100 ERP 2014.  This new update is scheduled to be available in February - March 2014. 

Sage 100 ERP 2014 includes several user experience enhancements that help users to be more productive.  Enhancements include the ability to use Autocomplete to find customers, vendors, and items faster, keep customer report windows open, and use the search grid windows easier.

Custom reports now provide the ability to allow a user to keep the custom report window open after print or preview.  This allows users to save time when printing or previewing numerous custom reports.

Sage 100 ERP (MAS 90) Second Tax Table Update Notice for Year 2014

The State of Michigan Personal Exemption Amount (called Dependent Exemption in Sage Software) included in the Tax Table Update (TTU) issued 12/23/13 contained the 2013 amount.  The State of Michigan has issued this notice:

You can make this change in the Payroll module by clicking on Setup then Tax Table Maintenance.  After entering state code "MI" and clicking on the Filing Status Button and selecting "A" for ALL.  Next, you will see this Payroll Tax Table Maintenance screen:

Enter the 2014 Dependent Exemption Annual Amount of $4,000.00.

Sage 100 ERP (MAS 90) Tax Table Updates & IRD for 2013 - Available: 12/20/13

Sage Software has come out with the following information regarding Tax Table Updates and IRD (Interim Release Download):


"The Tax Filing Year 2013 is the final year Sage will maintain and support the 1099 form in Accounts Payable, the W-2 and 941 forms in Payroll and the Electronic Reporting (formerly Magnetic Media) module.

As of Tax Filing Year 2014, customers will be able to print and/or eFile 250+ signature ready State and Federal tax forms from within the Sage 100 ERP (MAS 90) integration to State and Federal eFiling and Reporting powered by Aatrix, additional fees apply for eFiling services only.

Note for Payroll Customers:  We will continue to maintain and provide Payroll Tax Table Updates (TTU) for applicable supported versions.

Federal and State eFiling & Reporting powered by Aatrix, year-end updates will be released December 20th.  Simply access Federal or State eFiling and Reporting from within Sage 100 ERP (MAS 90) and the system will prompt you to apply the automatic update.

The 2013 Interim Release Download (IRD) and 2014-Q1 Tax Table Update (TTU) are scheduled to be posted by December 20th, remember to check back on the Sage Portal throughout the month of January for any last minute tax table updates."

2013 UIA Changes

Starting in the first quarter of 2013, if you have 25 or more employees at any one time in the first quarter, you MUST file form UIA 1028 electroncially.  To file electronically, you must complete the registration for the Michigan Web Account Master (MiWAM) on the michigan.gov website, as soon as possible.  The form is due April 25, 2013.

Beginning in 2013, employers with more than 25 employees must file quarterly reports online.

Sage Software Has Issued a 2013 First Quarter 941 Form Update

This update works with versions:
4.30.0.18 - 4.30.0.23
4.40.0.0 - 4.40.0.10
4.50.0.0 - 4.50.5 (also includes 4.50.6.0)
5.00.1.0 (also includes 5.00.2.0)

The changes  include: 
*The quarterly tax report variance calculation now includes the additional medicare rate of .9%
* The employee totals verification report no longer prints a difference when an employee has additional medicare
   wages or tax
* Additional medicare wages field has been added to the quarterly 941 printing screen
* In Federal eFiling and Reporting the correct additional medicare wages populate to the 941 form

941 Form 2013 Changes:
* Quarterly 941 printing has been updated for the 2013 IRS changes to the 941 Form (rev. January 2013).  This update
   has text, line number and calculation changes to the Report Formats, 'Entire Form' Pre-Printed' and 'Worksheet'
* Schedule B has been updated

NOTE: 
The pre-printed 941 Form and pre-printed Schedule B formats have been designed  based on the downloaded 941.pdf and Schedule B.pdf from the IRS website.   If you use the pre-printed form formats, the alignment may need to be adjusted or the form may need to be modified.

Some Sage 100 ERP (MAS 90) users have encountered alignment printing problems.  Depending on workstation font settings, you may or may not experience this issue.
